The nest looks so creepy because it has fused with a wooden sculpture

Almost everybody is afraid of stinging insects, especially hornets, which are the largest wasp species in the world, so finding a hornets' nest near the house you live in must be quite terrifying, more so if the nest looks as creepy as the one pictured above.

What you're seeing in the photo, which was published on Reddit earlier this week, is a hornets’ nest that has fused with an old wooden statue of a man.

According to Reddit user CountBubs, the creepy-looking structure was found by his dad in a shed that hadn't been opened in several years. It looks just like a spooky sand creature swallowing a man's head – an image that will be haunting you and giving you nightmares for a long time to come.

The only good thing about the eerie nest with human face is that it appears to have been abandoned.

“There's dead hornets all around it we tried hitting the lower part underneath the support (you can see it in the lower left half of the picture) and there was no disturbance,” CountBubs wrote.

Nonetheless, some other Reddit users say that the terrifying shell may still have hibernating hornets inside, mentioning that the insects would come out once exposed to warmer weather.
