Sad news for Terminator fans, at least for mature ones, who were looking forward to a hard-hitting, nail-biting, no holds barred kind of movie. Australian actor Jai Courtney, who stars in the latest production, has revealed that the movie “Terminator: Genisys” will not carry the R-rated symbol like its predecessors.

Courtney, who plays Kyle Reese, has confirmed that, while the movie does contain lots of violence, it won't need the mature rating since there are no other elements to make it unwatchable by a younger audience.

He told TheArnoldFans that “I would love to see it be rated R, but I don't think it will. I think in this day and age, it's much more likely to be PG-13. There were no f-bombs. But there'll be a healthy amount of movie violence.”

Out of the Terminator series, the first three films all had an R rating when they were released in cinemas. That means that only people over 18 could get in to see them in the States, while in Europe, it was restricted for people under 15.

The last film in the franchise, “Terminator Salvation,” which came out in 2009, was also PG-13, showing an increased need to appeal for the younger fan base. And by the sound of things, the latest project, which has been eagerly anticipated by fans, is also going to hold back on some of the hardcore stuff, precisely to cater to that need.

The movie “Terminator Genisys” will be released on June 26, 2015 in Europe and on July 1 in the US. Other roles in the film are played by Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, JK Simmons, and Matt Smith.
