"Desperate Housewives" actress Teri Hatcher blasted the rumors about her being jealous over her colleague, Felicity Huffman, for winning an Emmy Sunday night.
Hatcher, 41, and her co-star Marcia Cross, who were also nominated for Emmy, lost out to Felicity the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series prize at the Hollywood bash on Sunday.
Rumors about Hatcher being jealous over Felicity spread out in the media after Teri didn't show up in the press room to be photographed with the winner and her colleagues, Hatcher being hugged only by Cross, Eva Longoria and Nicolette Sheridan.
However, some photos from the post-Emmy Governors Ball show Hatcher and Huffman embracing.
Hatcher says, "I didn't care at all about losing, but I just didn't want (my daughter) Emerson to feel bad."
The actress called her seven-year-old daughter to explain her loss, saying, "You know, I didn't win, but Felicity won, and when you come to the set next time, you can give her a big congratulations."
Teri Hatcher, born December 8, 1964 in California, gained her fame for the role of Lois Lane in the television series "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman", and currently stars in the "Desperate Housewives" show.
Hatcher also appeared in "Spy Kids", the 1997 James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies", made guest appearances in "Star Trek: The Next Generation", "Seinfeld" and had a recurring role in MacGyver, as his young friend Penny Parker.
In 1997, Hatcher was voted "Sexiest Woman in the World" by the readers of FHM.
For her role as the single mother Susan Mayer on ABC's "Desperate Housewives", Teri won the Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Golden Globe Award in January 2005.
