Tennis MMO Smash Online Ready for Beta Testing

For those who love Maria Sharapova just because of her tennis skills, a tennis MMO would probably be one of the best things that could ever happen. If that's the case, we have

a great piece of news for you: Smash Online, a free to play tennis MMOG developed by gamigo AG not only that is getting closer to gold status, but it invites anybody interested for the open beta tests via the official website.

The game tries to combine the crazy, fast paced fun of console tennis games with the long term character development and community focus of MMOGs. You will be able to create and customize your own avatar, compete against real people coming from all over the world and win matches or tournaments to achieve skill points and improve your stats, such as speed, strength and accuracy as well as earn points to spend in the integrated item shop on new clothing and equipment.

The nice thing Smash Online comes with is the innovative "pet system" that allows you to play single player matches against AI opponents, which turn into your "pets" - you can rise their stats, too, and take them to play with you in 2 on 2 matches. It seems, however, that this means no co-op mode, which would be kind of sad. Still, you will be able to do everything you are allowed in any MMO game, such as meet new friends, message them and even join clubs together. So it should be fun.
