The Pokemon Company and publisher and hardware maker Nintendo have announced that, in order to mark the anniversary of ten years since gamers first enjoyed Pokemon Gold Version and Silver Version, players who own the remakes Heart Gold and Soul Silver will be able to get access to Pokemon number 151, also known as Mew, which has rare physic type powers, as long as they take place in an event which runs from October 15 to the last day of the month.
The two games, which were released ten years ago and introduced the Johto region to handheld gaming, only allowed gamers access to 150 Pokemons, with Mew listed at number 151 in the pokedex and revealed as such in follow ups Red Version and Blue Version.
Those who own Heart Gold and Soul Silver and want to get Mew will need to use the Mystery Gift option via the
Nintendo Wi FI connection service while also acquiring the Pokedex in the video games.
They also need to have less than three Wonder Cards in their game in order to get the new Pokemon.
The Mew creature will come at level 5 and has a basic attack called Pound.
The creature also comes packed with a Cherish Ball and a Premier Ribbon.
Players will be free to train Mew as they see fit and use him in both single player and multiplayer games.
Heart Gold and Soul Silver were very successful among gamers but they are now being overtaken by the newly launched Pokemon Black and White, which launched on September 18 in Japan.
The two games became the fastest of the series to reach the 1 million units in pre oders and then went on to sell more than 2.6 million units in just two days on sale.
Pokemon Black and White will arrive in Europe and North America in the spring of 2011.
