Many of you were probably waiting for the new year to come to enjoy one more edition of the biggest gaming event on the East Coast, Otronicon. The event will unfold over a period of ten days, taking place at the Orlando Science Center from January 12 until January the 21st.

Kotaku has the world and full details of the event: Are you ready for the ultimate gaming experience? Explore the science, art and culture of videogames during 10 days of non-stop events. For all ages and skill levels, including: More than
100 gaming stations, including the Wii, PS3 and XBox360. Pro and amateur Halo 2 competition on the 8-story Cinedome. Classic arcade games like Donkey Kong and Pac Man. Cyber-Triathlon, with DDR, Guitar Hero II and Gran Turismo 4. Real simulators rarely available to the public.

So, are you ready for this experience? Financially speaking, are you ready? First, you need to scrape up some cash together, take some time off work/school (call in sick, your grandma needs surgery and you are required to accompany her) and then head on to Orlando for some serious gaming. The Halo 2 competition sounds more than interesting, and the 100+ gaming stations could include some PS3s and Nintendo Wiis.

The official hours for the event are: Monday - Thursday: 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Fridays: 4:00 pm midnight, Saturdays: 10 am midnight, Sundays: 10 am - 9 pm and an unlimited 10 day pass goes for US$ 49.95. If you don't feel the need to purchase a 10 day pass, know that a one-day pass costs US$ 14.95 for adults and US$ 9.95 for kids under 12.
