With a more powerful graphics and animation engine, jQuery is slowly being chosen more and more over Flash to replace element dynamics and animation effects on websites. Following the trend set by the web community, Template Monster is getting on board the jQuery bandwagon and has recently announced they are launching a special category on their site for jQuery-powered website templates.

Already counting over 200 websites, the category is providing commercial licensed web templates powered by the jQuery JavaScript library. With smooth and lightweight effects, jQuery is presenting itself as a real alternative for the CPU intensive, big-sized Flash websites.

To celebrate the launch of this new category, a special 15% discount will be offered to all clients acquiring jQuery templates until April 4, 2010. The templates can be viewed on this page on Template Monster.

David Braun, CEO of Template Monster, the leading e-commerce company in web-design, had this to say about their latest venture, “jQuery is more than a smart decision because of how easy it is to use and how light-weight it is.” He added, “That is why we're sure that it is a real treasure for our audience and each and every customer will surely appreciate the amazing flexibility and mightiness of our brand new jQuery Templates."

This is the latest category to be launched by Template Monster, which built its fame by selling top-of-the-line HTML and Flash templates. In recent months, the company has ventured itself in selling Silverlight-powered websites, Flash CMS products, audio effects and AfterEffect movie intros.

Template Monster seems to stay one step ahead of its main competitor, the Envato Network, also selling high-quality Flash and HTML templates, alongside audio files, graphics, AfterEffect movies, web scripts and 3D CGI products.

For now, Template Monster stands tough in Alexa's rankings, currently at #864, but Envato's best product, Theme Forest, has made a 300 position leap to #875 (standing on April 2, 2010). Following the trend, in the next few days, we will probably see Envato jump over Template Monster and crown itself as the new king in web template marketing.
