Canadian wireless carrier Telus couldn't resist too much before announcing when the newly launched BlackBerry Tour 9630 would become available in the country. As such, shortly after Research in Motion officially unveiled its latest addition to the BlackBerry lineup, the mobile phone operator stepped up and announced that its users would be able to purchase the handset starting July 15.

The release date seems to be in line with the rumored launch time frame for the newest BlackBerry on the airwaves of another carrier, Verizon Wireless, which suggests that the phone could hit both Canada and US at the same time. Sprint, the second US operator that came up with a mini site for the Tour 9630, stated that it would launch it later this summer and gave no further details.

Besides unveiling the launch date for the Tour, Telus also made public the price tags the handset will become available with on its airwaves. Those who would like to acquire the new BlackBerry without signing a new contract with the carrier will have to pay $649.99 for it, while those who will only go for a one-year contract will pay $599.99.

Of course, there are users who would agree to signing a longer-term agreement with the carrier, and the prices will differ for those. Thus, the BlackBerry Tour 9630 costs $549.99 on a two-year contract agreement, and $449.99 on a three-year one. In addition, the operator also has a 3-year promo price that has been set at $249.99, which doesn't sound too bad after all.

It remains to be seen whether other carriers will have the device priced similarly or they will come with more attractive offers, though we can say that the Tour in itself seems to be attractive enough to many. Unfortunately, it seems that there are no details on whether/when the phone will become available for pre-order, as there are some who would very much like to have it as soon as it becomes available for purchase.
