Australian mobile phone carrier Telstra is expected to make available for its customers a new handset running under Google's Android operating system in the not-too-distant future, namely the HTC Sensation, and some rumors on the possible release date for this device have already emerged.

The HTC Sensation is rumored to arrive at Telstra on July 12th, only a few days before another high-end smartphone will be released at the wireless carrier, namely the Samsung Galaxy S II.

The wireless carrier already announced plans to make the HTC Sensation available for its customers, but they did not unveil specific info on its availability until now.

No official details on the price tag surfaced either, but rumors on the matter are already available, suggesting that Telstra might have the device for $0 upfront on its Freedom Connect plan.

On this monthly contract, users will receive $800 of credit; unlimited MessageBank and national texts each month, along with 2GB of data on the wireless carrier's HSPA+ network.

For the time being, nothing was confirmed on the release date or pricing of HTC Sensation on Tesltra's airwaves, but more might be announced soon.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the smartphone comes with a fast 1.2GHz dual-core application processor inside, complemented by 768MB of RAM, for increased performance capabilities.

The new flagship Android-based handset from HTC comes with a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display, complemented by an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back and a front-facing camera, enabling video recording and video chatting, respectively.

The HTC Sensation was launched with 1GB of internal memory, and with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

It also comes with WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS receiver, 3.5mm headphone jack, the usual set of sensors, and with Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread on top, along with the new HTC Sense 3.0 user interface.
