Australian wireless carrier Telstra has officially confirmed the availability of the Windows Phone 8 GDR2 software update (also known as Nokia Amber) for its Lumia 920 devices.

The new release will start arriving on devices as soon as tomorrow, August 16, though further details on the matter have yet to be unveiled.

“The Lumia 920 GDR2 update will go live from tomorrow morning (16 August). It was approved by Telstra on 5 August,” a company’s representative noted in a post on Telstra’s support forum.

Nokia Amber was previously expected to start arriving on Nokia’s devices on August 14, but that did not happen, and some recent reports have suggested that it will be released only in late August or early September.

Hopefully, the fact that Telstra is still set to make it available tomorrow means that all Lumia 920 users around the world will be receiving it shortly, as MyNokiaBlog notes, so stay tuned.
