Australian carrier Telstra is finally ready to offer its customers the long-awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy S II 4G.

According to AusDroid, the deployment will start on December 14 and will be “staggered,” which means not all Galaxy S II 4G owners will receive it at the same time.

Around 10k devices will be selected randomly to receive the update FOTA or by manually checking in the first 3 days.

Starting day 4, 10% of Galaxy S II 4G devices will be selected each day until all will be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich.

Obviously, those who prefer to download and install the update from day 1 may want to connect their Galaxy S II 4G to a PC via Samsung Kies desktop software. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
