It's time to leave your daily tasks aside and get creative. Maybe that's what the AppStore editors are trying to say. They just put together a great selection of apps to help you in that endeavor.

There are five main categories of apps in the "Explore Your Creativity" collection. You can either "Make a movie," "Create Music," "Edit Photos," "Draw & Sketch," or "Tell a Story."

The movie-making featured apps start with Apple's own iMovie, but the AppStore editors are highlighting ten other apps. Most of them are free, but the others won't take more than $1.99 (€1.47) off your iTunes account credit. You can play with apps like Disney's Story, Cameo, Cinamatic, Spark Camera or Stop Motion Studio.

One of the newest ones on the AppStore is Fly. The main difference between this one and a full-fledged video editor like iMovie is that Fly is simple and very fast. Once you get the gist of the gestures, you will be editing long movies in mere minutes, instead of hours.

Fly works much better if you have an iPhone 5 or a newer model. All you have to do is import video clips from your camera roll, add dissolve transitions, split screen or picture-in-picture effects, add music or voiceover tracks and you are done. There are six extra packs for the advanced video editor in you that you can get via in-app-purchase for prices ranging between $2.99 (€2.21) and $9.99 (€7.99).

When it comes to creating music on your iOS device, the AppStore selection is just amazing. The AppStore editors must have had a hard time choosing just 17 apps, because they are all very good.

Apple's GarageBand is the first to open this category. But the DJs can choose between Propellerhead, Loopy HD, Keezy, Traktor DJ, djay 2 or NodeBeat. If you want to get you classical music on, you might want to try Pianist, Magic Piano or FourChords. Karaoke fans are not left aside. StarMaker and Sing! are here as well.

The next two categories will explore your creativity even more. Get to edit photos or Draw & Sketch with some of the most appreciated apps in the AppStore. iPhoto is the first one to open the list, but Instagram stays on top of every other filter photos app out there.

If you are talented enough, you can try Atelier, Adobe Ideas or SketchBook Mobile.

The last category is our favorite – "Tell a Story." These are just apps that will give you a blank canvas so you can do some real creative work – writing. Apple's Pages is here alongside Writer Pro – just two of the best writing apps in the AppStore. If you want to prepare your next movie, you can use Final Draft Reader or MindNode.

Check out this great selection of apps and get creative this weekend.
