Tell Apple What You Want in Mac OS X 10.6.3 |

Without a doubt, Apple is already prepping to send out the first alpha builds of Mac OS X 10.6.3 to its testers (if it hasn’t done so already). Remember, the first incremental update to Mac OS X 10.6 came just two weeks after Snow Leopard had been released to the public. The second, Mac OS X 10.6.2, arrived two months later, on November 9th.
If Apple decides to greet us with Mac OS X 10.6.3 before December 25th, we really should make a wish list so that the Cupertino version of Santa can make all its fans happy. Whether you want a few fixes here and there, or new features altogether, be sure to write your wishes in the comments. When we decide we have just enough requests to get Apple’s attention, we’ll post a new article with your thoughts. And here’s a word of advice: be straightforward! Apple likes things neat and clean. Now, we know what some of you computer-savvy users out there are going to say: Apple mostly provides fixes and security patches with its incremental updates to Mac OS X. That’s true, but we figured the holiday spirit would get the best of the Mac maker. And if the update doesn't arrive by Christmas, it will arrive sometime afterwards. There's no chance Apple will stop Snow Leopard development at Mac OS X 10.6.2. Perhaps you want something removed, or just out of the way as you start up your Mac. Perhaps you want something new added, like a new way to boot into Mac OS X. How about a new utility app, joining the rest of the programs Apple has thrown in with Mac OS X Snow Leopard (Activity Monitor, AirPort Utility, AppleScript Editor, etc.)? Anything new will most likely delight you, as a fan of the operating system, and surely you have a few suggestions to make, so let’s not waste any more time. Go ahead, tell Apple what you want in the next incremental update to Snow Leopard!

| Comment #1 by: Victor Meunier on 04 Dec 2009, 12:44 UTC | reply to this comment | Apple needs to improve iTunes !
iTunes is no longer just a tunes player, it's a movie player, a podcasts reader, an audiobooks reader, an iPhone/iPod apps shelf AND a store !
The problem is that now it's quite a heavy software and when you just want to play a song or watch a video podcast or else, you have to literally load ALL THE OTHER CONTENTS even if you don't want to use them !
I think it's time iTunes gets split in a few complementary programs, like the iLife suite.
One for the tunes, audio books and audio podcasts,
one for the videos, video podcasts and movies and tv series,
one for the iPhone/iPod stuff,
and finally : an iTunes Store part, common to all the programs, that you could access by enabling it when you want to use it, wether you are on a program or another.
What do you folks think ? |

| Comment #6 by: M.Reza on 04 Dec 2009, 16:25 UTC | reply to this comment | I would like apple to improve the stability of snow leopard because ever since i installed 10.6.2 on my macbook it's been sluggish and unstable. I had installed 10.6.2 on my macbook and about a month after this it crashed, i then reinstalled osx and a month later it crashed again! My mac still feels unstable and apps like safari, imovie, iphoto, etc crash about 70% of the time. I switched from windows to osx to get away from these problems but it seems they have followed me to apple, so i truly ask is apple really that great? I previously had tiger installed and that had crashed as well and it also felt unstable and the preloaded mac apps were crashing too but not as much as snow leopard. I'm not sure if i just have bad luck with computers having crashed the windows os and osx numerous amounts of times. So in my opinion i just hope Apple could make osx a tad more stable because i feel that if osx crashes and windows crashes you might as well use windows because there is alot more applications designed for it. I am an apple fan but i am slowly moving away from apple back to windows because of all the problems I've had with osx. So please Apple help me out here and make osx more stable. |

| Comment #9 by: henning on 04 Dec 2009, 16:42 UTC | reply to this comment | I would like to be able to move files, not only to copy them in the finder. |
| Comment #9.1 by: Victor on 07 Dec 2009, 13:20 GMT | Like mr/mrs/ms Henning I would also very much like to move/migrate files (e.g. imported homevideo) with a one-click option to another location and/or storage device. It happens to me numerous times after importing my videostuff from my videocam they landed on mu built-in drive instead of on my FW-connected external drive... |
| Comment #9.2 by: Brian on 03 Jan 2010, 07:22 GMT | try Some modifiers its perfectly easy to move and copy using the alt key and clicking and dragging also alt+cmd makes aliases.
some folders/files dont let you do this because they are needed for the system to run otherwise it works. |
| Comment #10 by: Paul on 04 Dec 2009, 16:42 UTC | reply to this comment | I think they should include a marble theme to match iTunes 9. |
| Comment #11 by: Jack on 04 Dec 2009, 16:52 UTC | reply to this comment | I want a streamlined, simple media player. iTunes is too big and cumbersome now and takes a lot of memory. I don't download any movies, LPs or podcasts from iTunes, I should have the option to not install those features.
Also, I would like to adjust the size of the icons when I activate stacks in grid view. They're too large and I was wondering if they can bring that nifty little slider that changes the size of the icons from the Finder over to the stacks interface, that would be awesome!
Oh and one more tiny thing with stacks. When I open and drill down into folders in grid view, I want the folder to open in the place of the cursor, so I don't have to move back down to the dock.
That's all I want Apple!! Please!!! xD |

| Comment #16 by: Boyuan Li on 04 Dec 2009, 21:26 UTC | reply to this comment | I think Apple should fix some bugs that will lead to the crash of Safari. Besides, Safari takes so much real memory, sometimes even more than 600M. |

| Comment #26 by: Rr on 05 Dec 2009, 06:21 UTC | reply to this comment | - being able to save defaults so new Finder windows do not open with toolbar and sidebar by default (rather annoying feature which only clutters the desktop).
- being able to OPEN applications using keyboard shortcuts (System Preferences). Currently we can only use this feature for shortcuts over menu items for the applications (but then we need to open them first to use them, don't we? doh...)
- also to have keyboard shortcuts for menu items which change name (like Expand and Compress for example). currently if the menu item name is not identical it does not work.
- facility to add iCal reminders even if application is closed (some third party utilities can do this, so why apple can't give us one?)
- yes split annoying bloated iTunes, let's remind Apple that is called iTunes not iEntertainmentSystem, just let us play the frigging music.
- give us back the good old Quicktime (the new version sucks big time and does not have a Pro. i hate how the menubar and controller clutters the screen and can't let us watch the movie unless we put the cursor outside the window, it's moronic! we like using the keyboard too you know...).
- multiple docks
- give us back the facility to download Software Updates without having to go to the website to do so (which BTW does not work outside USA!!!). Some of us have multiple macs and like to download the update ONCE for all of them. Why did they take this facility out in the first place? its so thoughtless...
- Services on Finder floating menu (w control key) do not work as they did before 10.6, ie: i cannot use it to click on a file and add it as attachment on an email, although I can still do this with the Services menu. so why are they different now?
- stop slowing the entire machine if the internet access is not good, slows or drops down. new system is too internet dependent. grrrrr.
more later... |
| Comment #26.1 by: Rr on 12 Dec 2009, 06:49 GMT | - Front Row in 10.6 takes FOREVER to open MPEG2 movies (that is if it finally gets to open them without crashing). Fix it Apple, you sold us your MPEG2 compressor, the least you can do is keep supporting it.
- Finder crashes and rearranges my desktop icons. Stop it and ensure my icons are left where I carefully put them on my one time, you have no right to rearrange them Apple, just cause u have a buggy software (which I paid for !).
i am sure i have some more, somewhere.. |
| Comment #27 by: gagan on 05 Dec 2009, 07:50 UTC | reply to this comment | Hackintosh netbook support restored. |
| Comment #28 by: WilliamB on 05 Dec 2009, 08:42 UTC | reply to this comment | How do you say this "neat and clean?
Apple's Mail is a great program, but over time it gets bloated with content. Mail messages are accumulating data that need to be more like data than messages for archival and research manipulation in the long run.
We need the ability to download the content, say as an ASCI II type file such that mailbox, submailbox, etc. content remains grouped and in order so one can archive content into a database for long term storage, access and manipulation and keep Mail relatively lean over time.
An alternate would be to have several Mail "collections" that you could open as selected within Mail, just as you select a collection of information in Excell. One could then move all messages for 2002 into a "2002" collection that would be archived (and run only when a past document is needed). It would be OK if only one such "collection" could run at one time, but even better if two could.
I would like to see the ability to move messages back and forth by selecting groups of emails or whole mailbox contents, selecting "move" or "export" from the menu and deposit it either on the desktop, in a folder, or in another collection. |
| Comment #29 by: Kiddo on 05 Dec 2009, 11:29 UTC | reply to this comment | We need driver support for anydata adu-510l modem. I'm using windows installed with bootcamp because of that. Thx Apple |
| Comment #30 by: Riziki on 05 Dec 2009, 13:10 UTC | reply to this comment | I think they should improve Front Row, when you scroll quickly through the list it looks wierd, and it can't play .avi files it only plays the sound. |
| Comment #32 by: Yasser M. Khan on 05 Dec 2009, 15:40 UTC | reply to this comment | 1) Every time I open up Finder and go to Applications, it has to refresh the icons and it also does the same thing when I use the 'Open with' command menu. Even the quick preview icons for media files is always being rebuilt and they are never cached and this does affect my battery usage. Please find a way to fix this.
2) AS for Safari, I think it's making my MacBook Pro (2007) run hotter at it's using quite a lot of CPU cycles and RAM. This is increasing the swap file whenever I browse with like 25 tabs open.
3) I think Snow Leopard has made my MacBook Pro (2007) run even hotter but I have no idea why. Please do look into this. We could use someway to clean the memory if we feel that some of the inactive RAM can be recovered and a way to alter the priority of CPU cycles for individual programs in Activity Monitor.
4) iTunes constantly has to refresh its icons and library, and it takes time. Try to fix this.
Any other optimizations to improve the performance and power efficiency would be greatly appreciated. |

| Comment #37 by: origin on 05 Dec 2009, 22:36 UTC | reply to this comment | what OSX needs is some goddamn TRIM support... |
| Comment #37.1 by: Surehand on 24 Jan 2010, 13:00 GMT | Defenitly I totally agree with you. Apple needs to activate the already prepared TRIM command. More and more users are switching to SSDs because they are just perfect for notebooks. Windows 7 already supports TRIM! |
| Comment #38 by: Jarman on 05 Dec 2009, 23:28 UTC | reply to this comment | Snow Leopard randomly reboots at least once a day regardless of what you are doing. A couple of days ago I was just browsing the System Preferences without any app running and my Mac (a refurbished 2008 3.2GHz octo) rebooted. You don't have the opportunity to save anything.
Having spent hours trawling message boards and tech-sites, I have undertaken numerous "fixes" ranging from resetting PRAM / SMC to a full reinstallation of Snow Leopard. However, I'm now convinced that this has nothing to do with software, peripherals, Mac model or hardware. I think it's a power management system problem that needs to be fixed by Apple.
The machine has gone through all the hardware checks it could (even very low level checks) and reported no issues at all. I just reinstalled SL + 10.6.2 and a copy of Windows XP Professional in a Boot Camp partition (which has NEVER crashed yet) and I'll wait Apple to do something good about this mess. |
| Comment #39 by: Bruce on 05 Dec 2009, 23:35 UTC | reply to this comment | Please add native, built-in support for writing to Windows NTFS file system.
Macs have always been able to read and write to FAT file system, and since NTFS has been the primary native file system for Windows since XP days, it is time for Mac to be able to Write to that as well as read NTFS.
(I work on both Macs and PCs, and the ability to write from Mac to my NTFS disks would be SUPER!) |
| Comment #40 by: Linux-user on 06 Dec 2009, 01:18 UTC | reply to this comment | - Add five finger multi touch for Spaces. Moving five fingers to the right moves you to the next Space, moving five fingers to the left goes one space back, moving five fingers down brings you from Space 1 to Space 3 or from Space 2 to Space 4, placing 5 fingers on the Trackpas without moving them opens Spaces so you can drag and drop windows from one Space to another.
- An easy way to show hidden files, like in Nautilus (a file browser for Linux). In Nautilus you can click on "View" and then select "Show Hidden Files" or you can just press Ctrl + H.
- An option to disable the Trash Bin or at least a shortcut to delete files immediatley, like Shift + Delete in Linux and Windows.
I had much more ideas, but I forgot them. |
| Comment #40.1 by: Linux-user on 08 Dec 2009, 01:27 GMT | Now I remember one of the ideas:
- Add three finger swipe gesture to System Preferences. I use this gesture to go back and forth in Safari and Finder, but in System Preferences this gesture doesn't work and you have to click the arrow buttons at the top left of the window. |

| Comment #42 by: maulrat1967 on 06 Dec 2009, 01:51 UTC | reply to this comment | I would really like Apple to fix the ongoing pixelated / blurry icon issue that has plagued some users since its release ... there seems to be enough complaints about it at the Apple discussion forum that it warranted several sites recently (like MacFixit) to run articles about it.

| Comment #48 by: Andrei on 06 Dec 2009, 14:45 UTC | reply to this comment | Since I installed SL, I have been having problems with the trackpad: the 3-fingers and 4-fingers gestures would stop working. I tried disabling/enabling them from System Preferences but with no luck.
I have to specify that this problem is random, which is most irritating, because it can disappear when I restart my computer, turn it on again etc., or it can persist even after a shutdown, restart etc. |

BS (Before Script): I could be thinking about 10.7 with all of my big ideas.
(If I copy an idea, that is good, that means I have total consensus with you)
- S T A B I L I T Y
- iTunes does need to be broken up. Choose what components to install
- LIGHTWEIGHT (RAM wise) Safari
-Automatic hardware and 3rd party software update notifications (without HASSLE)
-Rosetta is used by MANY older apps, installing Rosetta installs the (at least) 7gbs of HD space
- Snap to compare feature like Windows7
-More appearance choices rather than blue and graphite
-BLUETOOTH didn't detect my dad's LG DARE (both in discovery mode)
- A P P L I C A T I O N C O M P A T I B I L I T Y
- Faster iTunes loading times
- Faster iPhoto loading times
- Optional security suite. I like having an option of secondary defenses. Like MS SecurityEssentials
-Disk performance tuners (Disk Cleanup, Disk Defrag, PRAM, NVRAM, SMC reset)
- Email message exports
- MPEG2 C O M P A T I B I L I T Y
- Mail plugin compatibility
- BLURAY C O M P A T I B I L I T Y
- TextEdit opens in the center, that would be helpful
- Better iMovie 06 to iDVD 08 exports. iDVD crashes EVERY SINGLE TIME. DO NOT TELL ME TO GO TO 09. OVERPRICED! BESIDES 09 IS DESIGNED FOR CAMCORDERS, NOT STILLS/SLIDESHOWS.
- Better Bootup procedures. QUICK (like 10s per scan) file structure scan, safety, and performance.
- Complimentary ME.com email for paying for so many overpriced items. I mean, seriously, a power cord for a Powerbook G4 being SEVENTY FIVE TO EIGHTY DOLLARS. Ripoff!
More as I come up with it! |

and include exfat read write support.
include a mini previous and next and pause ply button for itunes in the menubar that is accessable no matter what app is on top.
bult in online disk that works and doesn't crash or stall or never mount.
rar file joining though is what i want most |

| Comment #58 by: Milad Ghattavi on 09 Dec 2009, 05:46 UTC | reply to this comment | Dear Apple,
i read an article on softpedia.com titled "what do you need in mac os 10.6.3?" the idea seemed very cool, and that's why i wrote this:
there are some tiny little stuff that windows has, and mac still doesn't support them!
:( so, since they are good stuff, i'd like them to be on mac os too.
i know that it's microsoft who always steals great ideas from apple (as it happened in windows vista), BUT wouldn't it be nice if mac os had some windows VERY HANDY features too?
judge yourself...
here they are:
1) resizing windows is only possible from one angle in mac os. but in windows we can resize windows within every four angle of the window.
2) suppose i have a folder named "Folder1" and it's placed on my desktop.
suppose i have another folder with different stuff in it in my documents that has the same name of the 1st folder. if i wanna move folder1 from desktop to my documents folder, it asks if i wanna replace the old folder with the new one. and if i accept, all the contents of the other folder gets lost!
i guess a better solution would be to MERGE the folders; not to REPLACE the new one with the old one. or at least giving the option of what to do, wouldn't hurt! options like: replace, merge, rename, stop (cancel)
3) cut, copy, paste! these are really the very basics for an operating system. we can't do these for files/folders in mac os with the famous shortcut keys and the shortcut keys are limited to text only! but in windows, it's possible.
4) when copying a folder with lots of files, it would be kinda better if in the copying panel, it shows what file is being copied right now.
5) apple has recently added a feature for the trash. PUT BACK! actually it doesn't work for EVERYTHING. it would be MUCH better if could work for folders or any sort of file.
6) microsoft has added a feature in windows 7, which really comes handy!
when a window is selected, if you hold the windows button and press an arrow key, depends on what arrow key you've pressed, some amazing stuff will happen.
like: windows+ left arrow:
the selected window will be resized and fill left half of the screen.
(similar for windows+right arrow)
windows+ up arrow: will maximize the window.
i may feel the need for these features; because i've been a windows user my whole life. and i've been just using mac for like less than a month. but i don't think that anyone would disagree that how handy these features can be! and these are THE ONLY features i think mac os lacks of! i have used mac os for less than a month. and i can FEEL how great and complete this operating system is. (also easy to use.) but these features make working with the os just faster!
and that's why i wrote this. to tell apple how much we, customers care to make the greatest operating system (mac os) greastester!
Sincerely, Milad Ghattavi. |
| Comment #58.1 by: Brian on 03 Jan 2010, 07:40 GMT | 1. Try Zooom2 personally i dont like the idea of multiple corner window resizing and i would prefer not having it
2.good point it would be nice
3. you can with modifiers and dragging and dropping.
command+drag = move
option+drag=copy
option=command+drag=make alias(shortcut)
4. hmmm i guess it would give you more information but not sure how exactly it would be useful. i personally at least don't really halt files when moving them. And i know which files i am moving caus i have just selected them.
(I would however like an option for check box selection like in windows it makes selecting a load of files less of an ordeal and makes you less likely to accidentally deselect all of them out of a momentary lapse in concentration.)
5) i second this, it is a very useful feature that has had its balls chopped off for some reason.
6) there are programs that do this allready one i have noticed it in is bettertouchtool...which if you are using a magic mouse or multitouch pad i cant recommend enough its a great new app that works alot like multilutch did but with all the things you ever wanted multiclutch to have...and although in beta has been nthing but stable for me so far. |

| Comment #60 by: Rick on 10 Dec 2009, 07:04 UTC | reply to this comment | 1. Right click on file should bring up an option to send a file to a particular destination.
2. Tabbed Finder with ability to split screen to show two folder and file lists. Would make file navigation and manipulation so much easier.
3. Right click to create new blank documents. This would be a huge improvement for creating, e.g., simple text files, etc.
4. Fix the Finder's crazy, unpredictable ability to show Windows PC's on my network under Shared in the side panel. Sometimes they show up, sometimes they don't. Nothing changes other than their random appearance. Why should I be forced to resort to Cmd-K and find the PC by IP address, when 50% of the time the PC shows up just fine in the Finder? Maddening and it's been going on since before Leopard.
5. Ditto resizing windows by more than just the grab section in the lower right corner. What is wrong with allowing us to resize from any side or corner? |

| Comment #65 by: Joel Pointer on 12 Dec 2009, 22:17 UTC | reply to this comment | Dear Apple,
I recently switch to Mac less than a month ago and although I love the OS as a software support engineer who supports my company's software on Windows, UNIX & iSeries for many years, in many ways it feels as if I have moved backwards in some areas of functionality.
1) Cut, copy, move & paste of files and folders is a very basic OS feature that has been a part of a Windows for more than a decade. On what are you waiting to add these abilities to the Mac OS?
2) The ability to perform multiple(append) writes to a DVD-R and DVD+R - Another feature that I use in Windows XP everyday.
3) 'Put Back' need to work for every type of object every time.
4) Putting a file or folder in the 'Trash' should not locked it.
5) Time Machine preferences should allow me to set the frequency and type of backups taken.
6) Ability to edit 'Favorite Places" when downloading files.
.
Finally a hardy "I second" to all of the suggestions given by all contributors. |

You see since using ATM on Classic System 7, I have a Fonts Folder with all my fonts (1.02 Gb of them), all carefully catalogued by Brand and Name. I resist to shove them all into one single Fonts folder inside a System Library folders as Apple wants me to do. But then, just for fun, once I tried doing it and Font Book seriously spit the dummy and died forever. I had to do a painful restore before I could get Font Book to work again. Any other font manager can do it, so I bet you could to, Apple, if you try a bit harder. |

By the number of hits on the two threads on Apple's own forum, less a percentage for multiple access, there are probably at least 50,000 SL users with this issue. It means on an affected machine, you cannot leave an external or network storage device connected or Finder will crash. Every time someone gets through to a T3 genius, they claim to have no knowledge of the problem. This is either head in sand or a cover up as they have no idea how to cure it. On my affected iMac, I am considering going back to Leopard. My Macbook Pro with apparently identical set up is not affected.

| Comment #86 by: Andre on 15 Jan 2010, 16:48 UTC | reply to this comment | This comment is about Mac OS X Server.
First the flowers: the price has been lowered, it provides "unlimited" users and comes bundled with an inexpensive Mac Mini, great move Apple.
Then, the pot: A server environment should come with remote access mechanisms, not only for a single sysadmin's operation but also for the unlimited users they claim the OS is meant to. This is nonsense companies like Aqua Connect and CodeRebel charge hundreds of dollars per user to provide Mac OS Server the missing remote desktop function. This is not exactly what I think an unlimited users server should be. On remote desktops, Apple is way behind Microsoft, are they afraid many users on the same Mac could affect hardware sales? |

| Comment #91 by: matthew on 19 Jan 2010, 06:09 UTC | reply to this comment | I would love for the update to do, what windows 7 did, and that's let us have a free download of either Mac OS 9, or 10.4, that way incase there are some programs that only work with those operating systems, it would let us run them. It could be a virtual machine. Windows 7 professional, enterprise, and ultimate has it where you can download Windows XP for free, and run it in a virtual program for free. Snow leopard, or at least the next Mac OS X should let us do that. I would also love for an update where when we put our mouse cursor over a program, it will show us a little window preview of the program if it is open. For instance, if Safari is open, and you have something else running in front of it, like iTunes, then you should be able to put the mouse cursor over safari, and see a small window preview of what pages are open. Windows Vista and Windows 7 have that feature. I think that would be a great feature for the Mac. |

2. Allow Quicktime X to open more file types ie. .MKV,
3. hardware decode of MP4 for more graphics cards.
4. Fix the graphics glitches that sometimes occur in Finder.
5. "middle click" for magic mouse.
6. NTFS support.
7. Better File sharing and network support (currently very slow connecting to snow-leopard computers)
and a more reliable way to share external hard-drives. (they don't always show up).
8. Better support for windows media files (I know this is a Microsoft issue, but something needs to be done about it) |

All I want is my system to be stable again. Not cool when your surrounded by windows users who see a spinning circle on your screen every time they look.
Leopard was amazing... Snow Leopard, not really what I expected as it doesn't seem to be as stable as leopard was which doesn't make any sense. |

- For the love of God, fix iTunes. I'd PAY to have a fast, streamlined reliable iTunes.
- NTFS support system wide
- Could we not have it so that after downloading large files the Airport driver doesn't crash and then Kernal Panic my Mac?
- Blu Ray
- Multiple Gestures on the Magic Mouse, if third party apps can do it, why not Apple?
- Laggy desktop folders opening.
- Fix the retarded Finder. Snap To Grid, means that if I delete a folder the rest all fall back into line, not leave an ugly hole where I deleted it. Also, when I resize a window, move my folders out of the way, not keep them in exactly the same place so that I have to do some weird scrolling in order to find my out of the way folders.
- Fix the enlarge button. |
| Comment #100 by: John on 09 Feb 2010, 14:02 UTC | reply to this comment | Snow Leopard lacks of full compatibility support for many imaging devices.
Although the first two update packages fixed a lot of known issues, this problem continues to persist.
I've an old Agfa Snapscan 1236u I've had purchased 9 years ago and I'm very happy with. While the Scanwise application worked fine on the "regular" Leopard, it stopped working on Snow Leopard. I'm very sick of seeing those missing ColorSync ICC profiles.
Another issue which has not been fixed yet is the InterActual support. The latest InterActual DVD player is fully supported on Leopard. Maybe this problem will be resolved on the 10.6.4 cumulative update. |

| Comment #108 by: Trevor on 30 Mar 2010, 21:00 UTC | reply to this comment | I would love to see OSX provide another copy paste buffer. Coming from the Linux/Unix world where the X windows allows a right click copy/paste, as well as a highlight-copy/centerclick-paste. This feature is EXTREMELY useful, might be nice to see it added so that someone could customize the mouse to change the center wheel/click to perform additional copy paste function. With this one feature I never needed any Copy Paste Pro, or some other custom software when 2 buffers and 2 methods to copy and paste were provided. |
| Comment #109 by: n7zzt on 31 Jul 2010, 08:28 UTC | reply to this comment | I really wish apple would get off their collective butts and fix some of the hardware incompatibilities they introduced in 10.6. For example: my Sirius webcam that works flawlessly in 10.5.8 will not work in 10.6.anything (error: camera in use by another application). I have pestered apple support over this and have been told politely to "pound sand". (their words: "not supported").
I like snow leopard. it works great except for this one flaw.
Also, I happen to be blind (I still have use for a camera for those that want face time with me) and i love that Voice-Over works nearly as well as my old JAWS program did in windows (only it sounds better than JAWS ever did). | |
