While younger generations usually find themselves at ease behind a computer screen the same thing can be said about most senior citizens, so Telikin developed a personal computer designed with those over the age of 60 in mind, its All-in-One PC to be unveiled at CES 2011.

Compared to other computing solutions, this AIO comes with a wide range of pre-loaded applications and an integrated menu that makes it easier to access functions such as video chat, photo sharing, email, local and national news, address book, weather, calendar, shopping, games and health sites.

Furthermore, navigation is eased by the use of a touchscreen display that allows quick access to all of the software applications.

Unfortunately, no other information about the enclosed hardware is to be found in Telikin's press release, but the AIO looks pretty similar to some of MSI's designs, suggesting this is actually an AE series PC with Telikin custom software installed.

“With its intuitive and structured menu of applications and clear-cut user interface, Telikin is the first computer truly made for baby boomers and older,” praised Dr. Jean Coppola, professor at Pace University.

“Gerontechnology studies how seniors interact with computers and Pace University is at the forefront of this research.

We have been studying this field for over five years and testing various computers, nothing comes close to Telikin,” concluded Dr. Coppola.

According to Telikin, there are more than 46.5 million consumers over the age of 60 in the US, the company expecting sales to exceed the one million mark by 2012 as social networking among Internet users ages 50 and older nearly doubled from 22% in April 2009 to 42% in May 2010.

Although the AIO is going to be officially launched during CES, Telkin already retails these through its website for $699.99, the computer coming with its software fully installed and 4/7 customer support.
