Video game publisher Namco Bandai has announced that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be launched during September both on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft.

The game will feature the biggest player roster in the history of the series, allowing gamers to choose from 50 characters that have expanded move sets and arsenals.

The game will include both tag team battles and new modes that allow for one-on-one battles and for a solo fighter versus tag team engagement.

Katsuhiro Harada, the project director working on Tekken at Namco Bandai, stated, “Tekken Tag Tournament is one of the most beloved entries in the Tekken series – not just among fans but also for myself and the entire development team, so crafting the sequel has been a labour of love for everyone here.”

He added, “To truly make this game stand up to the high benchmark set by the original, we have injected some exciting features and modes that will revolutionize the online fighting game community and allow new players to enjoy and master the game – so there will be something for everyone.”
