Tekken 7 Designer Katsuhiro Harada has revealed a sketch with one of the proposed new fighters that might appear in the upcoming game, showing an Arab character, and asks the community to share its feedback on whether or not such a fighter should appear in the new title.

Bandai Namco and the team led by Katsuhiro Harada revealed Tekken 7 last month after much anticipation. The official presentation consisted of a cinematic trailer showing the core plot of the upcoming title, which sees Kazuya take on Heihachi in an epic brawl.

Now, it seems that the developer wants to allow the community to have a greater impact on the game and has begun sharing ideas with fans and asking for feedback concerning them.

Harada has posted an update on the Tekken Facebook page, confirming that his team wants to add a new character into the next iteration of the game, in the form of an Arab fighter.

According to him, the team had had ideas for Arab characters since 2008, but the lack of knowledge about the Middle Eastern culture cut the ideas in the bud.

Now, as Harada and his team have more experience with that area of the world, they want to share their sketches and ideas about such a fighter.

"Today, I wanted to ask about one of the ideas within the several new character ideas. That is, a design concept of an Arab character. I would particularly like to hear the feedback from our Tekken fan community in the Middle Eastern countries (and of course, the all Tekken fan community)," the developer says.

"However, the character lineup for Tekken 7 has not been decided! This character that we have shown you this time has not been decided as the character to be featured in the game yet. It will be decided depending on the reactions and feedback from the Tekken fan community."

Harada emphasizes that this is still an early idea, and depending on the feedback, it might not even end up in the actual game. However, if the community approves it, then the team will start fleshing out the new fighter.

"If the Tekken fan community, especially those in the Middle Eastern area, end up liking this character, I would like to feature this character in the game."

"On the other hand, if this character is not received well by the Middle Eastern Tekken fan community members, there is a possibility that the character will be considerably changed or letting go of the idea of featuring this character in the game."
