Japanese game centers are getting Tekken 6, that's a fact, 'cause Namco Bandai and Sony are saying so. And by now you're probably asking: "But isn't the sixth installment of Tekken a PlayStation3 title?" Yes, it is. "So arcades in Japan are getting the PS3's cell technology?" You're catching up mighty fast I must say. That's right boys and girls, and Tekken 6 is the first game to benefit from it as an arcade game.

Up until now, Namco's arcade machines, not only in Japan, but everywhere else around the world, used PlayStation2 technology for arcade versions of certain games. Namco's recently acquiring PS3 technology led the company to sell PS2 arcade technology to other companies and even though Tekken 6 as an arcade is indeed a reality, Namco's spokespersons still have to make an announcement with a release date.

There aren't many known details about the game and in-game trailers show that it isn't that much different than Tekken 5, which is perfect for an arcade by the way, but the most impressive trailer that captured everyone's attention was the one at E3 in 2005. It featured Jin Kazama demonstrating some martial arts moves. But that wasn't what captured everyone's attention. It was the fact that Jin's skin showed scars and shades like never seen before, giving it a sense of realism. Plus, sweat could be seen evaporating from Jin's body and going down his face, while, at one point in the video, touched flesh moves along with the movement of some sweat droplets.

Any questions why Namco chose their last installment of the Tekken series to make it an arcade? Well, it's all that above, but mainly it's because they don't have that many titles to pass for an arcade right now, and certainly not PS3 ones.
