The Tegra 3 is going to make it happen, fulfilling peoples' hopes

We're just going to throw it out there: NVIDIA's CEO has essentially promised that Tegra 3 tablets would reach the price of $199 by the time summer arrives.

That's 150 Euro, although we assume the real European price will be of around 180, if not the full 199 Euro.

In order to do that, expensive materials will be eliminated, like “expensive memory” which may point towards less storage space.

Alas, for companies like Eken who offer very cheap models based on alternative processors (Allwinner 10), this isn't going to spell good things.

Then again, this is the IT industry and, since it all boils down to capitalism, competition is the norm of the day. Smaller manufacturers and vendors will just have to step up their game.

At least we know that slate makers are actually living up to their promises of affordable products.
