As we reported in our previous articles, NVIDIA's Tegra solution is expected to be featured in a number of new devices, ranging from small, ultra-portable computer systems to MIDs, tablet PCs, media players, and others. Just recently, Tegra was involved in a rumor concerning a much speculated Apple Tablet, which could be based on the said SoC (System-on-a-Chip). On that note, it appears that Tegra will make itself present in an upcoming tablet, from Innovative Converged Devices (ICD).

Tegra is one of NVIDIA's projects for the upcoming years, as the Santa Clara, California-based chip maker is planning to expand its market far beyond that of GeForce graphics cards. Tegra will be aimed at the growing market for small form-factor computing devices, such as the recently introduced Microsoft Zune HD. Another new use for NVIDIA's low-power chip is in the aforementioned tablet from ICD, dubbed Vega and boasting an impressive display of 15.6-inch.

According to available specifications, the large tablet will debut in the first half of 2010, featuring a resistive touchscreen with a maximum resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels (262,000 colors). IDC's tablet will run on the recent Android 2.0 operating system, and will feature 512MB of DDR and 512MB of NAND Flash memory. A boost of storage capacity will be available via a microSD memory slot. Additional features include a built-in accelerometer, a 1.3MP webcam, 2G/3G connectivity, 802.11 b/g WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1, as well as a USB connector.

The unit will measure 373 x 254 x 16mm and weights under 1.3kg, according to reports on the Internet. To sweeten the offer, the vendor will bundle a magnetic docking station, but for the time being the pricing details of the said device haven't been revealed. The company will partner with network carriers for the 15.6-inch tablet, while 7-inch and 11-inch versions are in the works.
