Vampires are again set to make a killing at the upcoming Teen Choice Awards 2011. With the ceremony scheduled to air live on August 7, fans can now vote for their favorite actors, movies and television series, since the nominations have just been announced.
The awards show is, as fans must know, the place to be if one is interested in knowing the hottest productions and stars of the day.
As such, it should probably come as no wonder that “Twilight” is again nabbing countless nominations, and will probably also win big, since it’s the fans who determine the winners by voting online.
“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” is the most nominated in the film category, with a dozen of them, including for categories like Choice Sci-Fi / Fantasy Movie, Choice Movie Actor (Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner), and, of course, Choice Movie Actress (Kristen Stewart).
Coming up strong, also in the movie category, is “The Hangover II,” which scored 6 nominations, thus confirming that it’s just as huge a hit as the original film, if not actually bigger.
Vampires also dominate the nominations in the television category, with CW’s “Vampire Diaries” getting seven nods, surpassed only by Fox’s smashing hit “Glee,” which scored nine nominations.
In music, we find names like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez competing in various categories, which, again, shouldn’t be that surprising.
Other names who stand a chance of taking home a surfboard award at the August ceremony include Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, both fresh off a successful stint as mentors on NBC’s The Voice, and Miranda Lambert.
Voting is now open to fans aged 13-19, with each being able to vote daily for their favorite, if they so desire. The list of performers and presenters is yet to be announced.
Below is the complete list of nominees.
