The football frenzy is still sweeping the Globe as more and more teams are eliminated from the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and we draw even closer to finding out who will be this year's world champion. Meanwhile, the local press in Brazil reports that Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo had an unusual experience.

According to the newspaper Globo, Ronaldo was coming back to his hotel room this past Wednesday when he discovered that an intruder managed to evade security and sneaked into his quarters. This happened on the night before Portugal met Ghana on the field, and the report confirms that Ronaldo's unwelcomed visitor was a 15-year-old boy.

It is believed that the boy managed to come into the footballer's room through the balcony, meaning that he was thus able to avoid the security forces patrolling the hallways. Though many of you might immediately think Ronaldo lost his temper, as he often does on the pitch, the report claims he was actually nice to the intruder.

The 29-year-old captain of the Portuguese football team told the boy that he wouldn't report him to hotel security but that he would do well to leave the room before getting into trouble.

The teen later told the publication that he actually got in Ronaldo's bed, which is where he found him as he entered the room, and that Cristiano even posed for a photo and gave him an autograph. The Globo accompanied its report with a grainy photo taken from a distance, showing a man that could be Ronaldo, sitting on the balcony of his hotel room and looking at the camera.

Don't worry though, Ronaldo didn't make the young boy leave the same way he came in, which would have been very dangerous, but let him find the proper way out of the hotel, presumably by using the front door.

Despite this rude interruption, Portugal went on to beat Ghana 2 to 1 on Thursday but was eventually knocked out of the competition anyway, due to previous losses. This current edition of the World Cup has so far been full of surprises, seeing strong contenders to the title being eliminated from the competition early on. Portugal was among the teams with a fair shot of winning the trophy, but Cristiano Ronaldo couldn't lead his team to victory.

Maybe this late night visit in the hotel room wasn't the only one and it turned out to be a distraction in the end.
