A teenager was booted and subsequently arrested at a Pink concert after tweeting what police interpreted as a bomb threat.

According to the Warrnambool Standard, the singer's fan was only tweeting a reference to her “Timebomb” song. The incident took place at a concert in Australia at the Rod Laver arena.

“@Pink I'm ready with my Bomb. Time to blow up #RodLaverArena. [Expletive],” he posted.

He was found by security at the concert because a photo of him was on Twitter. He was escorted out where he was handcuffed and detained.

“They just came up to me and showed a photo and said ‘is this you?’

“I said yeah, because it was my face, and suddenly they just turned me around and grabbed my hands and forced me out the back,” he describes.

His father argues that the boy did nothing wrong, but a Police media spokeswoman notes that the boy will be charged. The dad believes that his 16-year-old son shouldn't be facing criminal charges.

“When he wrote that, he didn't have time to put ‘Timebomb,’ you know,” the father has stated.

“It was meant to be about drop the effects, the music, everything - just drop it all,” the Warrnambool resident explains.

The unidentified teenager mentioned that he was detained even though the arresting officer wasn't convinced of the fact that what he did was a crime.

Melbourne and Olympic Park officials claim that no threat can be ignored and they are obligated to follow through in these types of situations.

“From our point of view, we have systems in place to monitor social media to ensure the safety and security of the venue, of guests and performers.

“Our security staff acted to ensure the area was secure and handed the matter over to the police,” a spokesperson clarifies.
