Nintendo together with Tecmo Koei Games have announced their intent to deliver the next entry in the acclaimed horror series Fatal Frame (going by the name Project Zero in Europe and simply Zero in Japan) exclusively to the Wii U home entertainment system.

The publisher has so far withheld details on the upcoming project, revealing only that it will be expanding the Japanese horror adventure series through a series of new multimedia outlets.

Kadokawa, the publishing and film corporation, has announced that it will be shooting a live-action feature starring famous Seventeen magazine models Aoi Morikawa and Ayami Nakajo, which will be released this Autumn.

In addition to this, Kadokawa Horror Bunko is going to publish Multiple Personality Detective Psycho and The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service, two novel tie-ins to the franchise, in August 2014.

For now, there is no word on whether the game will also make it to western markets, but it is likely that more information will be revealed during this year's E3 conference. There are, however, some bad omens, in the form of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse and Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly never being localized for western releases, so we can only keep our fingers crossed.
