The world of iPad replicas has just got a new addition and it’s pretty neat

If at first Chinese white box tablet manufacturers were focusing on launching products which merely looked like the iconic Apple iPad, as of late we have noticed a change in strategy.

Chinese makers now want to impress you specification-wise as well, so they are offering products that bring not only a pretty (and sleek) face to the table. Inner beauty has just acquired a new meaning.

Teclast is one of the companies slowly emerging from the slew of unknown Chinese manufacturers and their latest offering called the Taipower X89HD (or short TPad) reveals itself to be quite a decent replica of the iPad mini.

The device ships with a 7.9-inch display which boasts 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution, which is something comparable with the Retina display offered by the most popular Cupertino tech giant, says Tablet-News.

The slate is equipped with a 22 nm X86 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, basically a Bay Trail T CPU, which should bring about decent performance and prolonged battery life.

Everything onboard is fitted with 2GB of DDR3L RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Design-wise, the tablet boasts a space gray metallic body and features very slim bezels on the side.

Because we’re not given the exact specifics, we’ll have to rely on our eyes only to provide you with the rest of the specs. There’s a visible frontal camera, microUSB port, audio jack and there’s at least one back speaker.

The interesting part is that Teclast is offering users a choice in terms of operating system, so you’ll be able to grab the slate with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box or with good old Windows 8.1.

Note that this doesn't translate into this tablet bringing about dual-OS functionality, you either get Android or Windows, not both.

Speaking of iPad mini clones, maybe you’d like something that surpasses what Bay Trail can offer. Xiaomi’s recent MiPad is also something to take into consideration in this department.

The slate barely launched in China and already sold like hot cakes from the first day. The device comes with the same 7.9-inch screen with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution but draws life from NVIDIA’s latest Tegra K1 processor clocked at 2.2GHz fitted with 2GB of RAM.

For the time being, we don’t know for how much the Teclast will sell, but we can tell you the MiPad is being marketed for $240 / €176 a pop (if you’re looking to grab the 16GB Wi-Fi model).
