Do you want access to the latest Microsoft technologies well ahead of the products’ general availability deadline? Care to continue having access to Beta software even after the company is no longer offering it to the public? Can’t wait for Windows 7 just another 10 days? Then by all means buy a TechNet Plus Subscription. Keith Combs, Microsoft technology evangelist, revealed a promo code that will enable new IT professionals signing up for a TechNet Plus Direct subscription to benefit from a 25% discount. By entering the TMSAM07 promo code when signing up for a new TechNet Plus Direct subscription,
IT pros will get to pay only $261.75 instead of the usual $349.

“Now is a really good time to purchase the TechNet Plus Direct subscription. Think about it for a second, Windows 7 is already on the download area. So is Windows Server 2008 R2. Exchange 20101 just RTM’d and will be there soon. Office 2010 and many others are on the way. So what better way to get access to all of the technologies and build a strong project plan? There isn’t one,” Combs noted. “Oh wait, it gets better. Use my US TMSAM07 promotion code for a 25% discount off the new subscription price. The prices are the full USD advertised price so expect to see the 25% knocked off the new subscription price in the order cart.”

A TechNet Plus Direct subscription offers IT pros all the benefits and access to all resources associated with TechNet, while not including DVD shipments. However, the subscription will open up the door to various technologies from Microsoft, including Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP, but also Office 2007, and a range of additional software including Office 2010 Beta, when it will come out later this year.

Here is what the subscription includes: “Full-version evaluation software without time limits. Beta software releases. Technical Information Library. Professional Support Incidents. Managed newsgroups. Online concierge Chat. Technical training resources and Microsoft E-Learning Courses.”

It would be nice to order the Technet Subscription, but apparently you'll have to call since a rank amateur must be programming the code that allows you to actually order anything from the website. I get on every computer that I've tried it from, the following

Windows Live ID is unavailable from this site for one of the following reasons:

The site may be experiencing a problem
The site may not be a member of Windows Live ID

Must be choice 1, since it would be completely ridiculous for M.O.M not to be a member of Windows LIVE ID. This problem has been going on since 2008 if you scour the web looking for solutions. Does anyone actually order online. I guess I will have to call Microsoft in the morning. How disappointing!!
