TeamViewer, launched by TeamViewer GmbH, has achieved iPhone status. Once installed on your phone, the application will allow you to remotely access the Finder view on a Mac, or a PC display. The TeamViewer software application allows the iPhone user to access the personal/office desktop with all its documents and installed applications and remotely administer unattended computers, for example servers.

The application works hand in hand with the company’s desktop software, which will provide a unique password. Once the access is settled, by accessing the info in the iPhone TeamViewer client, the user is allowed to port the desktop interface via any Internet connection.

The official TeamViewer site indicates, “With the Team Viewer App for iPhone and iPod touch you are now able to access remote computers from everywhere. It allows you to give spontaneous support as well as having permanent access to unattended computers.”   Another important feature is that the TeamViewer app supports multi-touch gestures to replicate mouse clicks, the scroll wheel and zooming. The monitor desktop setup allows users to switch monitors. Each screen is scaled down to fit the iPhone resolution.

Furthermore (this is a catchy tool), the app can replicate a complete keyboard, with all the special keys. Extending options to reboot or reconnect are also defined. TeamViewer can track various computers accessing a list, a partner list, to show all the online / offline users. It employs a 256-bit AES session encoding alongside 1,024-bit RSA key exchanges. It wheels behind firewalls and proxy servers.

The system requirements for iPhone and iPod touch are the iPhone OS 2.2.1 and higher. The TeamViewer app is currently free for non-commercial use. For IT professionals, who need to access wider computer networks, the software requires a license that costs $100.

“TeamViewer provides access to any number of remote computers for which you do not have to purchase any additional licenses.” the TeamViewer representatives point out. “Even installing TeamViewer on unattended computers does not incur any additional cost!” TeamViewer’s official site notes.
