TeamViewer, a remote control and desktop sharing solution from the developer of the same name, has been finally approved by the team of beta testers. It now includes full file transfer capabilities and it is fully cross-platform compatible for connections to and from Windows machines. The software is free for personal use.

TeamViewer establishes connections to any PC all around the world in an instant, enabling you to remote control your partner's PC as if you were sitting right in front of it, the makers explain. If you install TeamViewer as a system service, it will be up and running whenever you start your computer. The software even allows remote control of unattended computers and servers. So, for instance, if you want to reboot a computer on the TeamViewer network, you can do so.

Until recently, TeamViewer was available solely for PCs running Windows. With the Mac version out, you get cross-platform support as well, meaning users are able to connect to a Mac from their Windows machine and back.

Training, sales and teamwork, file transfer, chat and even more is possible with this incredible piece of software. Best of all, TeamViewer is completely free for non-commercial, personal use. The software comes with integrated file transfer that allows you to copy files and folders from and to a remote partner. This also works behind firewalls, the makers note.

The final version includes full file transfer capabilities, is fully cross-platform compatible for connections to and from Windows machines, and has recently been approved by TeamViewer's testing team, which is why TeamViewer 3.6 is now available for free download HERE. The software requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later and is a Universal Binary.

If you wish, you can take your TeamViewer experience a bit further by going with the Premium version. This includes an add-on tool (TeamViewer Manager) that helps to manage your partners in a clearly arranged database, where you can store passwords and other details, the company says. TeamViewer Manager also makes invoicing your clients much simpler, using integrated logging and filtering functions.
