TeamViwer is a useful remote maintenance software. Up until this point, the software has been available solely for PCs running Windows, but the developer put his back into it, again, and came up with a
Mac version (beta) as well. What's even better is that the new version, running from
Mac OS X 10.4 on, offers cross-platform support.
"TeamViewer is now also available for Apple Mac OS X. The
new TeamViewer for Mac even supports cross-platform access - so you are now able to connect to a Mac from your Windows machine and back!," the TeamViewer
web site reveals.
TeamViewer establishes connections to any PC all around the world in an instant. "You can remote control your partner's PC as if you were sitting right in front of it," teamviewer.com reveals. If you install TeamViewer as a system service, it will be up and running whenever you start your computer. The software allows remote control of unattended computers and servers - even remote reboot is easily possible.
TeamViwer includes Remote control of computers over the Internet, Training, sales and teamwork and File transfer, chat and of course more.
TeamViewer can be used to control unattended computers and servers. Installation as a system service even allows remote reboot and reconnect. The software comes with integrated file transfer that allows you to copy files and folders from and to a remote partner (this also works behind firewalls).
Still worried about security? TeamViewer is quite secure, the developer claims. All versions feature completely secure data channels with key exchange and RC4 session encoding - the security standard for https/SSL.
You can also customize TeamViewer exactly how you want to have it. For instance, you can decide if you prefer speed or quality of the display, or you can customize the invitation mail that can be sent to your partners.
