TeamViewer has released a security update for a “potential issue” that affects both Windows and Mac OS customers.

The company hasn’t made available any details of the vulnerability, but they advise users to immediately install the latest version.

The security update came shortly after TeamViewer announced the availability of a release that brought a number of improvements. There is a slight chance that one of the recent fixes may have generated the security hole.

In order to update the popular remote access tool, users must simply install the latest version on top of the existent one. There is no need to remove the previous variant.

We urge everyone to apply the security update as soon as possible since vulnerabilities in such applications could have serious consequences.
