Like all other PC products, memory modules and kits have to get updated and refreshed on a regular basis, so as to keep user interest, and it looks like Team Group has completed its most recent additions to its portfolio of gaming-oriented RAM.

DDR4 is already be nearing actual availability, what with Hynix actually completing its first modules not long ago.

Still, it will be a while before motherboards start to widely support it, not to mention for worldwide availability to actually ramp up, and there is also the issue of pricing.

Basically, DDR3 will still be the primary solution for a while, so there shouldn't be anything discouraging module makers from unveiling new products.

That said, Team Group just a short while ago delivered a new line of kits for gamers and overclocking enthusiasts.

Dubbed Xtreem LV (there seem to be a lot of hardware products with a variation of the word 'extreme' in their names these days), the line includes dual-channel and triple-channel kits.

They all work at 1.67V and are composed of modules with either 2 GB or 4 GB of capacity.

One 4 GB kit and one 6 GB offer have the base frequency set at 1,600 MHz, while a 4 GB and an 8 GB kit are clocked at 2133 MHz.

All modules have 8-layer PCBs (printed circuit boards) and latencies of 6-8-8-24 (for 1,600 MHz) and 9-11-9-27 (for 2,133 MHz).

In the company's own words, the newcomers “use specially selected original particles manufactured under new production process, and pass 24 hours of strict burn-in testing to bring to consumers an exceptional usage experience.”

The press release did not give any prices, but a report says the 4 GB DDR3-1600 kit is up for sale at 199.90 Euro. Those that want a direct look at all available info need only go to the official product page.
