The word 'fusion' seems to be used quite extensively in the IT industry lately, with even Team Group releasing a number of USB flash storage devices, which cram up to 32 GB inside enclosures with sandblasted and anodized finishing.

This once, Team Group did not go for the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 standard, even though native support for it is finally starting to trickle on the motherboard chipset market.

Instead of making an unnecessarily expensive set of flash memory sticks, the company decided to, instead, create high-capacity drives aimed for the mainstream.

The newcomers are known as the Fusion F108 and are described as “an indispensable mobile storage for mature user seeks for reliable storage.”

There are five distinct models in this collection of storage units, with capacities of 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB.

They all have the same physical characteristics, however, namely the size of 59 x 17.7 x 7.7 mm and three available color schemes.

As for actual performance, the drives read and write data at varying speeds, depending on their capacity.

The 2 GB and 4 GB models have read and write speeds of 15 MB/s and 5 MB/s, respectively, while the 8 GB and 16 GB drives reach 20 MB/s and 10 MB/s.

Furthermore, the 32 GB Fusion F108 reads data at up to 20 MB/s and writes it at up to 15 MB/s.

“Equip with the USB2.0 transfer interface, support 2-32GB capacity, and provide fastest transfer rate is up to 30 MB/s (read) and 15 MB/s (write), F108 can give endless fun to daily life by integrating work, creativity and multimedia for users,” states the press release.

“F108 is also designed for saving energy, which shows Team’s dedication in creating an environmental friendly consumer electronic product,” the announcement adds.

The newcomers sell with a lifetime warranty but, unfortunately, have not been given prices as of yet.
