Team Group has, more or less, been biding its time ever since it unleashed the Lamborghini USB 3.0 portable hard drive last month. Nevertheless, seeing how June is nearing its end, it was about time the Taiwanese outfit to release a new product, even if only to keep things fresh. Sure enough, the Taipei-based company has now broken silence in order to introduce its latest series of portable flash storage solutions to the consumer base.

What team Group presented is a flash drive line that goes by the name of Aegis C101. At present, there are five different versions available, each with a different capacity and color theme. All models operate on the USB 2.0 interface and measure 54.1 mm x 22.5 mm x 9.1 mm.

The five available newcomers boast 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB of storage space and are colored green, gray, blue, orange and pink, respectively. The first two reach speeds of 15MB/s when reading and 5MB/s when writing. The 8GB and 16GB units read and write at 20MB/s and 10MB/s, respectively. Additionally, the 16GB and 32GB reach 30MB/s and 15MB/s when performing the same operations. All models achieve this performance without the need for any driver under Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Linux 2.4 and MAC OS.

“Team Technology Inc. has once again leveraged its powerful R&D capability to launch a new high-speed USB 2.0 flash disk – the C101. The shield shape, carbon fiber pattern and mirror finish combined with fashionable urban colors fusioned classic style with modern technology,” the official announcement states.

Team Group's Aegis C101 have a data retention of over 10 years and are constructed out of environmentally-friendly materials. In tune with this Eco spirit, the enclosures themselves have a shield-like shape and carbon fiber patterns on their mirror finish. All storage units are backed by a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, pricing details were kept under wraps.
