The development team at Valve is once again updating Team Fortress 2, the competitive team-based multiplayer shooter, and the Source engine, in order to improve the overall performance of the game and the player experience.

For the core Source engine, a crash linked to the audio system was eliminated, while controllers were updated to work with the Linux versions of the game, with the changes applying to Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Day of Defeat: Source.

The list of changes for Team Fortress 2 is more extensive and eliminates some exploits and fixes crashes, while also making a number of in-game items paintable.

A full list is available via Steam, which is currently also available on Linux and is running a big sale for the OS.

All the updates are automatically applied as soon as the player starts the client of the digital distribution service.
