Valve has confirmed that Team Fortress 2 will get a huge update later this week, designed to fix plenty of map exploits while bringing lots of new levels created by members of the community.

Team Fortress 2 has been one of Valve's most successful games, as the online shooter, which went free-to-play a few years ago, has constantly generated lots of money for the studio and for its players, who can create in-game items and sell them via the Steam market or the MannCo in-game store.

Seeing as how the game and its mechanics have received lots of updates over the years, Valve has decided to fix the different exploits that had been uncovered by different players in older maps.

One such example, according to the TF2 blog, is Badwater, as players can now use rocket jumps or sentry jumping to easily get past buildings and just wait at the enemy team's spawn point to kill others.

"And Badwater is just one of the maps with fixes in this update. In fact, the majority of maps in TF2 have gone through the same process. By eliminating these exploits and bugs, players can once again feel like they understand threats and the dangers presented in combat spaces," the studio said.

Besides fixing plenty of old exploits, Valve is also bringing two new maps coming from veteran player Ian Cuslidge, in the form of Process and Standin.

"Introducing two all-new Capture Point maps: Process and Standin. Beyond a great polish, both of these maps offer unique and exciting gameplay; Process with its five streamlined Capture Points and Standin with its triple Cap Point free-for-all," Valve said.

"These maps were selected by the TF2 team in part for their straightforward and intuitive layouts, and in part because they were a hell of a lot of fun to play. These CP maps were designed with little visual noise, were easy to understand and fun to navigate through."

Team Fortress 2 will receive its new update later this week, via Steam.
