When it comes to over-the-ear headphones design there isn't much that can surprise me since, over the years, I have seen all sort of crazy contraptions that were meant to improve the fit and sound, but few are actually more lunatic then Teague's own 20/20 concept headphones.

So what's so different about them you ask?

Well, take a good look in the video below at the 20/20's and you will see these actually look different then any other headphones available out there, Teague saying these use a “tensegrity” adjusting mechanisms in order to adapt to different head shapes and sizes.

Tensegrity is a term that was devised by Richard “Bucky” Buckminster to describe a structure that uses flexible and rigid elements to balance tension and compression forces, this being the first time such a technology is used in headphone design.

Since this is quite a new technology is difficult to state just how effective this is when it comes down to fit, but it does actually look pretty interesting, so I am sure those that are particularly found of industrial design will get a kick out of owing a pair of 20/20's.

And if you wonder how did Teague choose this name, their website sheds light on this mystery since twenty-twenty “represents both perfect vision and the ultimate effective range (Hz/kHz) of the human ear” (inspired decision, to say the least).

Since this is actually a concept no other infos are known right now, the specs following to be detailed after the company finds a headphone company to produce their design, company representatives saying they are pitching their idea to a few manufacturers.

Sure, that is no guarantee as these may actually finish by being built, but I think Teague will manage to find someone interested in manufacturing these, since crazy design (and outrageous prices) seem to go quite well when it comes to headphones.
