A teacher from Martin County, Florida has been terminated over a picture of her wearing little clothing being sent to the principal.
26-year-old Olivia Sprauer moonlighted as a bikini model, and one of her shots made it to the school officials.
The Martin County High School English teacher was forced to resign on April 29, when she admitted that she was the model in the swimsuit shot.
Sprauer doesn't regret making the decision to take up modeling, a much more lucrative business, but she does miss her students.
"They are happy for me. [...] They know I love them," Sprauer tells Huffington Post.
She plans to be there when they graduate and argues that she would have been liked to be allowed to stay until the end of the school year.
"I felt like it would have been nice for my students to finish out the year with me. [...] They trusted me and they made me happy so that aspect of it was sad," she recalls.
Sprauer took up swimsuit modeling in February, using the name Victoria James. She defends her decision and explains that she has done nothing immoral.
“I take swimsuit glamour style photography,” she says.
She was aware of the fact that she would be fired if the school board were ever alerted of her extra-school activity. She had been with the high-school since 2011.
"Lots of teachers get fired or asked to resign for the same things I did. [...] I knew I didn't want to come back next year and I knew I wanted to go to grad school so I decided if I made it to the end of the year I would be happy," she adds.
Sprauer mentions on a modeling website that she is now open to some "tasteful" collaborations.
