14 DAY TRIAL // When you’re one of the world’s most popular entertainers and a huge name who can command a small fortune for a single appearance, having a “low-key” birthday party most definitely doesn’t mean what it means for millions of other, non-famous people.
Case in point: Taylor Swift. The pop star (former country singer) turned 25 over the weekend, and she celebrated with some of the biggest names in showbiz right now, including music’s reigning king and queen, Jay Z and Beyonce.
But they weren’t the only celebrities in attendance.
Taylor hangs out with the best, boasts about it online
Taylor performed at the Z100 Jingle Ball but when work was done, she was ready to unwind and celebrate her birthday. As you can see from the Instagram embeds below, her guestlist was precisely what you’d call “A-list.”
There was Victoria’s Secret model (and rumored lover) Karlie Kloss, there was Justin Timberlake wearing a poop emoji mask (for some reason), there was Beyonce and Jay Z, and there was Sam Smith, aka one of the hottest singers of the year.
Not pictured there are other celebrities in attendance, like Nick Jonas, Ansel Elgort, Emma Robers, Chrissy Teigen, and Taylor’s BFF Selena Gomez. You can catch a glimpse of Selena in the photo with the Christmas tree, in which Taylor is shown blowing out the candles on her cake.
Again, for someone as famous as Taylor, having a birthday party doesn’t mean what it would mean for the rest of us.
Birthday party caps off a perfect year
Few would have guessed it possible for Taylor Swift to have an even bigger year than ever before, but 2014 turned out to be it: this year, she released a brand new album and went full pop after years of flirting with a more pop sound but still identifying as country.
“1989” turned out to be a surprise hit even by the most optimistic estimates, and it spanned several hits and even broke some records in the process. The videos for the singles went viral almost instantly, probably mostly because Taylor did her best to show that all this gossip around her personal life meant nothing to her, that haters couldn’t bring her down.
Taylor is one of the most successful artists of 2014, which also means that she’s raking in a lot of money for her music. To crown an already spectacular year, she was also included on Barbara Walters’ Most Fascinating People list for 2014, right there with the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Elon Musk and David Koch.
So yes, Taylor Swift is doing great. Happy Birthday!
