Taylor Swift has always been a bit more pop than country, but it’s just now that she’s coming out with a 100 percent pop album. “1989” is out in music stores, and while her fans are enjoying the new music on it, the Internet is having a blast with pretty much everything else Taylor Swift-related.

This is how come we have now the strangest, totally unexpected but most amazing mashups ever. If you haven’t gotten your hands on a copy of “1989” yet, here’s something that might keep you going until you do: two of these surprising mashups are available below.

Aphex Swift is a project from David Rees, cartoonist, artisanal pencil sharpener, and host of National Geographic’s Going Deep, who actually created a full album of Aphex Twin and Taylor Swift tracks.

He says his purpose was to prove that, despite the fact that these two artists are not even close to one another in terms of artistic outlook and sound, they’re strangely similar. To quote Reese, Aphex Twin is “as big a romantic cornball as Taylor,” only different in sound.

If you ask me, the mashup album tiptoes on that fine line between brilliant and downright creepy.

The second mashup to keep you going until you get your Taylor kick is with Beyonce’s “XO” and Taylor’s “Out of the Woods,” which is a brand new song on the album that won’t be released as a single and that was supposedly inspired by her short-lived but passionate romance with Harry Styles of One Direction.

Depending on your preference in music, you might find this one more to your liking. On the downside, don’t expect to hear Taylor on it, because only the melody from “Out of the Woods” is used.

So there, enjoy! And drop me a line in the comments section below to let me know how you liked it.
