14 DAY TRIAL // Word online has it that Taylor Swift is looking to prove to the world with her new album, “1989,” that she’s a changed woman, who no longer needs a man in her life to feel good and who has learned from her past mistakes. That includes the disastrous romance with known womanizer John Mayer.
If that was ever Taylor’s intention, she’s obviously going about it the wrong way because there’s some serious buzz online about how she and the famous crooner are dating again, probably.
Hollywood Life reports that the two had dinner at the Hollywood hotspot Chateau Marmont on August 20, with the e-zine nothing that “this is a little too much to be coincidental!”
“John Mayer, 36, and Taylor Swift were both dining at LA hotspot, Chateau Marmont. New photos have surfaced of them leaving and the 24-year-old singer looks happy, regardless of the fact that she was just at the same spot as the ex who really hurt her! Did they eat dinner together?” Hollywood Life asks.
We will probably never know the answer to this until the next date, if there’s one, or until some source close to them runs to the tabs with the story, in a bid to make some money fast.
Taylor and John dated between December 2009 and February 2010 and broke up allegedly because she was too much of a handful for him, especially because she wanted something more serious and he only wanted to have someone to pass the time.
When he dumped her, John broke Taylor’s heart and she poured all of that in a song called “Dear John.” That’s not Taylor being her subtle best, you have to admit.
Even Mayer himself admitted that the song was about him, saying in an interview that he was surprised to hear she would diss him publicly like this even if she’d been this hurt by the breakup. The actual words he used to describe how he felt about Taylor’s song were “lousy” and that he “didn’t deserve this bull[expletive].”
Taylor never said anything after this and, as a matter of fact, never did confirm the song was about Mayer.
Still, if she did go running back to him after all the heartbreak he caused her, we might as well brace ourselves already for an onslaught of very juicy gossip. Taylor’s love life tends to generate some of the most hilarious and entertaining headlines / stories, and renewing the romance with Mayer will be no exception.
