Taylor Swift may have just turned 24, but she's not as keen on receiving as she is on giving. News has emerged that the singer donated the handsome sum of $100,000 (€72,735) to the Nashville Symphony on her birthday.

The “Trouble” singer calls Nashville her home and is clearly supporting some of the places she considers are in need of assistance. According to the Nashville Musicians Association, Swift's gift was a surprise during a meeting last week of the musicians' union.

Swift is a member of the musicians' union and is clearly set to help. The Symphony has a history of financial trouble, as last year, it was forced to cut down wages of musicians and almost foreclosed on Schermerhorn Symphony Center if it weren't for a generous patron.

This isn't Taylor's first donation. Last year, the pop singer donated a whopping $4 million (€2,9 million) to the Country Music Hall of Fame for its Music Education Center, which promptly changed its name to the Taylor Swift Education Center.

Another interesting donation made by the pop star was towards her hometown's Public Library. In February of 2012, The Nashville Public Library received 14,000 books from Taylor, its most generous donation to date.

Taylor just turned 24 over the weekend and decided to celebrate in Australia with a fancy garden party which was attended by some very dutiful friends and also some famous ones, such as New Zealand singer Lorde.

The event was a colorful one, as red balloons and flowers of all kinds can be seen in the many pictures Taylor posted on her Instagram.

The reason the venue location was chosen to be far-off Australia is because Talyor is currently in the Land Down-Under promoting her latest album “Red.” Thankfully for her, this was the last event before the holidays, as the next date isn't until in February, when she will be playing for crowds in London.
