A duet is coming, the feud really is over

The most surprising thing happened at the Grammys 2015 last Sunday, when Taylor Swift went over to where Kanye West was and shook his hand and posed for pictures with him, thus ending a feud that had been going on since 2009.

That was just the beginning of a beautiful friendship, Kanye tells Ryan Seacrest on his radio show: they will be recording new music soon.

A surprise collaboration

Hell must have frozen over. Kanye West, the same guy who took an award out of Taylor’s hand at the 2009 MTV VMAs to proclaim that she didn’t deserve it but that Beyonce did, is now looking forward to getting in the studio with her.

That’s because Kanye doesn’t discriminate, he explains, as you can listen for yourself in the video below. Apparently, this was Taylor’s idea.

“She wants to get in the studio and we’re definitely going to go in. Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work. I don’t discriminate,” he says. “If I could be involved in giving people any type of energy, advice in the studio, whether you’re Beyonce, whether you’re Taylor Swift, whether you’re Jay Z, whether you’re Beck, whoever, and they can be reciprocal with that, I’d like to be involved with that.”

Kanye doesn’t offer an estimated date for the collaboration and doesn’t even say if Taylor’s offer for a duet went beyond “hey, let’s do something together, that would be fun.”

However, he sounds thrilled about it, so we have no other option but to assume that he’s speaking the truth. Kanye likes to talk big, but not even he would make this kind of announcement for nothing, we hope.

A duet wouldn’t be a bad thing, not at all

Even assuming the collaboration turned out to be really bad, say, because of Kanye’s rather-recent love of very, very heavy Autotune, it would still be the talk of the town and would make both these artists considerably richer.

The Taylor-Kanye feud has been making headlines for years, with most people siding with Taylor and blaming Kanye for what must have been one of the most embarrassing moments in her life.

The fact that they made up at the Grammys at Taylor’s initiative showed she was more mature and professional than him, and generated even more positive media for her. Kanye could certainly use that.

Moreover, the way Taylor’s Grammy gesture was received proves beyond a doubt that interest in anything these two might do, musically or otherwise, is huge. If they did release a song together, everyone would be talking about it, even if they hated it.
