Taylor Swift has a new album coming out next month and as per usual this means even more attention than before to her personal life and her impressive little black book of ex-boyfriends. Harry Styles of One Direction is her most recent, with Taylor saying in a recent interview that she hasn’t dated anyone since.

For a bit more accuracy, we should add that the two went out for a few months in late 2012 and split when their busy schedules prevented them from being together as much as they wanted to. Rumors have tried to get them to “reconcile” ever since and there are even reports claiming she’s still heartbroken over losing him.

The latest suggests the same.

Taylor held exclusive listening party for her new album, got personal

In October this year, Taylor is releasing a new album, this time of pure pop inspiration. It’s called “1989,” and like every other material she put out, it’s bound to be deeply personal.

Star magazine reports that the singer held an exclusive listening party at her home recently, and at the end of it, she talked about each individual track that made the cut and what inspired her to write it. Swift is known to write her own music, which is often deeply personal, which means that it offers fans plenty of room to speculate on the inspiration for it.

Styles’ name came up in that discussion, though not necessarily because Taylor wrote a song about him. She supposedly did that with “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” which was released as a single from the album “Red” that same year she and Harry dated.

Instead, she spoke of how she felt at the time she was in the much-mediated romance and how hard it was to have everyone wishing the worst for her and Harry.

Taylor has the most amazing metaphor for a failed romance

This is when she came up with a metaphor for the relationship, one insider tells the aforementioned publication. “She described it like trying to build a fire out of two twigs and everyone is yelling at the fire, ‘I hate your fire,’ and blowing out the sparks,” says the source.

Taylor will always be 14 at heart, or the most romantic celebrity out there. She does have a point, though, assuming she really did use these words to describe her short-lived relationship with the One Direction boybander: at the time they started dating, Taylor had already erred by being too open with her personal life with the media and the paparazzi, and this meant the entire world knew her relationships never lasted more than a few months.

So, after the initial joy at seeing two of the hottest young celebrities as a couple came speculation on when they’d break up, and rumors about how much they were fighting already. In a way, the world did will her breakup from Harry.
