Kathie Lee Gifford confirms Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy crashed a wedding and refused to leave

For a couple of days now, there's been a lot of talk on whether Taylor Swift and her new beau, Conor Kennedy, crashed a Kennedy wedding in Boston and were escorted off the premises when found out. Katie Lee Gifford says that this most definitely was the case.

Kyle Kennedy, the daughter of Michael Kennedy and Victoria Gifford Kennedy, got married over the weekend. A day later, reports said Taylor Swift had crashed and almost ruined the party.

Confirmation came from the bride's mother, Victoria, who told the press she personally tried to make Taylor and Conor see they should not be at the reception because they weren't invited.

A rep for the pop country singer denied this, saying both had invites. Conor had actually been invited but never RSVP'ed, let alone announced he planned on bringing a date, Katie Lee Gifford said on her Today segment.

She knows because she was there: Kyle is her granddaughter.

“The truth is, because I was there, Vicki's account is accurate,” Gifford says, as the video below will confirm.

Taylor and Conor were asked to leave at least twice, and both times they refused.

“[The bride] didn’t know if he was coming or not. She heard that he might be, but he got in touch with her an hour earlier, and said, basically, 'Can I bring my girlfriend?' She said very nicely, 'please do not come.' Guess what? They came,” the talk show host further explains.

Gifford also stands by previous claims that Taylor's arrival at the wedding uninvited almost ruined the whole night for the bride (and groom).

“It’s the bride’s day, and that was Vicki’s other concern. 'This is my daughter’s day and I would appreciate it if you would not come',” Katie says Vicki told Conor when he asked if he could come.

Though Gifford notes that the whole thing was awkward and rude, she defends Taylor a bit by saying she believes she had no idea she was not invited. In other words, the one who was being rude was Conor for not RSVP'ing and for crashing the party.
