14 DAY TRIAL // Taylor Momsen was reportedly fired from the hit series “Gossip Girl” because producers got sick of her diva demands and irresponsible behavior on set but, in a new interview with Elle Magazine, she says it was she who quit acting.
As fans must know, for some time now, Momsen has achieved success as the lead vocal of The Pretty Reckless, a project that, she says, allows her more room to be creative and, at the end of the day, be herself.
This is why she quit acting for good, a job she’d always complain about because it created the false impression in her fans that she was some kind of role model who had to live her life as her fans’ parents saw fit.
Music doesn’t limit her that way, which is why Taylor hopes she’ll be able to pursue this career for the rest of her life.
“I quit acting, actually,” she tells Elle when asked if she has any acting projects lined up. “I quit Gossip Girl and now tour and am in a band and that’s pretty much all I want to do. Hopefully I’ll be able to only do that for the rest of my life,” she adds.
Speaking of being on tour, Taylor reveals in the same interview that life on the road is so hectic she often doesn’t even have time to shower. So, if she were to list the items she couldn’t live without, those would be dry shampoo and, of course, black eyeshadow.
“I tend not to bring a lot. [Just] a lot of black eyeshadow, and dry shampoo because a lot of the time you don’t have time to wash your hair or shower, it’s very chaotic. So black eyeshadow and dry shampoo and I’m good to go,” she says.
Fans of Taylor’s music should be happy to know that The Pretty Reckless is already working on a new album. The teen star is also keeping very busy with writing and producing – she’s definitely determined to make it as a musician, no doubt about it.
