Taylor Momsen Puts Miley Cyrus on Blast Again

Taylor Momsen has slowly but surely become the young singer and actress everybody seems to love to hate. In all fairness, it’s not like she’s doing anything in particular to make herself loved; on the contrary, actually, she constantly says she doesn’t care. In a recent interview with 411Mania, the rocker was asked about Miley Cyrus again – and, once more, she put her on blast.

In another of her most recent interviews, Taylor said that she could not stand to be compared to Miley for the simple reason that they were about the same age. She made music for the love of it, while Cyrus was just a cog in the huge pop machine who did what was told, the rocker believed. She also said that pop music and, implicitly, Miley’s music, was “pathetic” and not really worth a dime.

411Mania recently asked Momsen if she was feuding with Miley. “I don’t even know Miley Cyrus. There’s just no comparison between us, you know. I’m a rocker, she’s a pop star. We’re entirely different things and there’s a big difference between us. I have nothing against her, I don’t even know her. I just don’t listen to her stuff. I don’t give a [damn]. It’s ridiculous that Disney is as relevant as it is today even with adults. Where is the real music? What happened to Zeppelin, and people who play their own instruments? There’s always going to be pop but it’s not real music, it’s not me,” Taylor told the interviewer.

The 16-year-old singer also said that, instead of paying this much attention to her, people might as well listen to her music – and leave the judging for later, if ever. “I don’t wanna be a role model. Hopefully, people will listen to my music and feel something, and be themselves. The music will talk to people. Just be yourself. I just love playing. I’m having a blast. We care about the music. It’s about playing. It’s just a rock show. You can’t really see those any more. So come out, have fun,” she adds.

Taylor Momsen is fronting the band called The Pretty Reckless. They will have their first album out soon, “Light Me Up.” In the meantime, the band is touring the US, showcasing the tracks on the studio material – and getting excellent reviews in the process.
