On October 2007, at Spike TV’s 2009 edition of the SCREAM Awards,
Taylor Lautner will also be in attendance in order to introduce a “New Moon” segment, while also to represent the entire cast,
JustJaredJr informs. As of now, it is not yet known whether Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will also take time out to attend the ceremony, but chances of it happening are almost null.
“Taylor Lautner is going to cause an even bigger scream from his fans – he’ll be on hand at the 2009 Scream Awards to present a new clip from the upcoming ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon!’
The 2009 Scream Awards honors the best fantasy and horror flicks and the Twi-cast is nominated for several awards including Best Fantasy Film, The Ultimate Scream, and Best Supporting Actress for Ashley Greene.” JustJaredJr says.
As we were also telling you a while back, when Spike TV made the announcement that it planned to make
“New Moon” the centerpiece for the entire awards ceremony, the biggest issue was who could Summit Entertainment dispatch to represent the franchise for the big event. One option was sending the two stars playing the lovers, Pattinson and Stewart, or sending the trio made of them and Lautner. Another option was, of course, having someone from the supporting cast do the honors, but that would have been something that did not sit well with fans, especially since footage – presumably new – from the film is to be shown.
Since Robert and Kristen are what one might call truly indispensable for the third film, which is currently shooting on location in Vancouver, it seems the movie studio went with the fourth and best option, that of having Lautner promote the film all by himself. In all fairness, it’s not without merit that the media branded this young star
a “blessing” for Summit not long ago, after this year’s edition of Comic-Con in San Diego.
That’s because, when it comes to doing media rounds, there is no nicer and more open “Twilight” star than Taylor Lautner, it is being said. So expect several interviews with him on the red carpet at the 2009 SCREAM Awards. The ceremony will take place and be taped on October 17, to be aired on 27 the same month.
