Taylor Lautner wins $40,000 settlement in RV case, donates the money to charity

Only a few weeks ago, word got out that “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner was acting like a diva, taking an RV dealership to court after not failing to deliver to him a customized vehicle. The matter has been settled in court.

Not only has Taylor proved he’s no diva, but he also managed to do the honorable thing and have the money he won with the settlement go to a charity foundation, E! Online informs.

Lautner took action against Brent McMahon’s company after it failed to meet contractual obligations and deliver the car to the actor in the specified time.

Apparently, Taylor wanted the RV to go on location for his next film, a plan that eventually fell through when he didn’t get the car. He wanted $40,000 compensation for it.

The RV dealership owner initially wanted to settle this out of court, by challenging the actor to a push-up competition: whoever won, won the money.

As expected, Taylor’s attorney refused to even hear of this, furthermore using the offer to show just how unprofessional McMahon was.

“McMahon’s RV has agreed to settle its dispute with Taylor Lautner. McMahon’s RV will pay $40,000 to Lautner, which Lautner will donate to The Lollipop Theater Network, a children’s charity with which he has a long-standing relationship,” Taylor’s attorney says in a recent press statement.

“The Lollipop Theater Network is a non-profit organization that brings the box-office hits to hospital rooms, so children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses can enjoy the flicks that they normally would not be able to see,” E! further says of the organization’s activity.

As also noted above, the star’s attorney (figuratively) laughed in McMahon’s face when he heard he was challenging his client to a push-up competition.

As a side note, the lawyer did not even hint at Lautner’s excellent physical condition or the small odds McMahon had to beat him, stressing only his failure to meet contractual obligations.

“McMahon’s RV’s response to our client’s legitimate claim further demonstrates the lack of professionalism that Mr. McMahon, his company and his employees have exhibited from the outset, and that compelled the filing of this lawsuit in the first place,” the statement said.

“While we will not dignify Mr. McMahon’s facetious suggestion of a contest to settle a legal claim with a response, we do welcome the opportunity for him to resolve this matter by making a $40,000 donation to the charity of Mr. Lautner’s choice, and we will be in touch with his counsel to see if he will make good on this offer,” the attorney said in the same statement.
