Young actor being inundated with non-wolf offers, report says

Ever since the first images of Taylor Lautner as a stronger, better toned wolf Jacob Black in “New Moon” were aired at last weekend’s MTV Movie Awards, talk of what the young actor will do next has not ceased. After all, it is being said, “The Twilight Saga” only has four books and Taylor is already done with the first two, so he must be looking for something new. According to the NY Post, Taylor needn’t look too hard because the offers are all pouring his way.

Since Lautner has virtually become Hollywood’s most recent and hottest “commodity,” as several, more skeptic movie-oriented publications put it, it’s only understandable that everyone wants a piece of the action. Major movie studios are reportedly carrying bitter bidding wars to have him signed on to them, directors are this close to getting physical with each other to get him on their projects while, understandably, the wave of leading ladies of the younger generation are breathlessly waiting to be cast opposite him in one of the upcoming films. All in all, the future is anything but bleak for Taylor Lautner.

As a matter of fact, from what the aforementioned source says, all that the young actor has to do now to make sure the world stays at his feet is put a little heart in it (as he has already done with “Twilight”), since offers he does not lack. “The on-screen incarnation of Jacob Black was seen leaving a meeting with Hollywood heavyweight producer / writer / director Garry Marshall (‘Pretty Woman,’ ‘Beaches,’ ‘Overboard’).” the NY Post says. As it turns out, Marshall has no less than three projects in the pipeline right now, which means he could want Lautner for one of them – ideally speaking, maybe even for two, the same publication reveals.

The first film would be “Valentine’s Day,” a rom-com starring Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Garner and Ashton Kutcher. According to The Post, this could be the perfect vehicle for Lautner, helping him break free from the image of Jacob from “Twilight.” Also, the fact that the rom-com has such a major cast could also be seen as an indication that Taylor also stands good odds to join the many stars just mentioned. It could be that “Taylor is in talks to play Anne’s mail room assistant boyfriend since she’s the most age-appropriate on-screen lovah.” says The Post.

A second film is “Dear Eleanor,” where viewers are presented the story of two 14-year-old girls crossing American in the ’60s. Abigail Breslin is reportedly in talks to play one of the leading female characters, while Taylor could play her love interest. “There Goes the Neighborhood” is the third film on Marshall’s schedule, a dark comedy about a family that comes to realize they have to defend their house at the cost of their own lives. “Taylor could play one of the creepy [neighbor] kids, whose smiley exterior masks a much more insidious agenda. The riskiest role of the three, but the gamble could pay off in a big way if it shows Hollywood he’s more than a pretty face.” The Post concludes by saying.

Make sure you keep an eye on this space to see which of the three, if any at all, Taylor Lautner chooses.
