Though he's yet to open a movie on his own, Taylor Lautner is the hottest commodity in Hollywood right now: he's just been offered an 8-figure paycheck (a minimum of $10 million) for the lead in an unnamed thriller, it has emerged.

With the third “Twilight” movie, “Eclipse,” Lautner consolidated his status as hit actor to such a point that producers rushed to sign him even before he proved his worth on his own, The Wrap notes.

Precisely one year ago, he was named the highest paid young actor of the moment, being able to command $7.5 million for a single role – that number has just gone up.

A Bourne-type of movie is now in the making and producers want Lautner for the lead. In fact, they want him so badly, they're willing to pay upwards of $10 million to get him, the aforementioned e-zine says.

If true, this means that Lautner is making bigger bucks even than actors who've been on the scene for decades. It also means that studios are really confident in his ability to open a movie.

“Lautner has become attached to star in an untitled spy thriller from New Regency that is described as 'The Bourne Identity for the next generation,' according to a website which also claims that both studios were willing to pay at least $10 million to secure his unproven services,” The Wrap writes.

Furthermore, Lautner will also produce the new project and another one named “Incarceron,” so it looks like he's really determined to make a name for himself in the industry.

“Lautner will produce both projects through his company Quick Six, which the abdominally-blessed actor might as well rename Quick Eight now that he's commanding an eight-figure salary before his 19th birthday,” The Wrap says.

“That's a nice raise from the reported $7.5 million he'll earn for starring in Universal's 'Stretch Armstrong,' which was delayed to allow the studio and Hasbro to focus on launching Peter Berg's big-budget 'Battleship',” says the same publication.

So far, it would seem that Lautner's genre of choice is action – which is just perfect, since this is where the big money is.
