He’s one of the hottest young actors of today and he’s got a squeaky clean image to boot, which makes him just perfect to work with. With all that, Taylor Lautner has just been dropped by his publicist after just 3 months, it has emerged. It’s not uncommon for publicists to drop high profile clients if they come with too much luggage or suddenly find themselves in situations from which they can’t possibly get out.
However, that’s not the case for Taylor, who not only is at the height of fame but is also very young, has a clean image and a promising career ahead.
The Hollywood Reporter suggests the publicist left because Taylor’s father meddled too much with his
career choices and that eventually became unbearable.
“Just as Taylor Lautner is about to step into a new role as
action star/co-producer (Abduction, due in September) comes word that he won’t be depending on Robin Baum of Slate PR to help accelerate his rising star,” THR says.
“Baum, who also reps Johnny Depp and Daniel Craig, resigned from Lautner’s account after just three months,” the publication adds.
Some years ago, Baum also reportedly dropped Russell Crowe, who was too temperamental to work with.
This time, though, it wasn’t the client – Lautner – Baum objected to, but rather the client’s father.
“Word is, his father, Daniel Lautner, isn’t the easiest guy to work with,” THR notes, adding that neither the former publicist nor camp Lautner was available for comment at the time of writing.
This is not the first time that word gets out about the way Taylor’s father interferes in his personal life: back in May 2009, he reportedly told the young actor to break up with Selena Gomez.

informed you then, word online had it that his father and his handlers told Taylor that it would be in his best interest (that is, best for his career) if he was single instead of in a semi-serious relationship with Selena.
He complied because he was in no position to say no, it was also said.
